Are you a busy student or working full time and looking for places to visit for a weekend getaway? Here you can find my 10 favorite places which are perfect for a city break.
1. Dublin, Ireland
Dublin is a relatively small city and this is why I'd highly recommend it for a Weekend Getaway. For the ultimate Dublin experience, visit the Guinness Storehouse, Temple Bar and Trinity College (Visit the Long Room Library for a Harry Potter Experience).

2. London, United Kingdom
London is an easy win since they are so many things to do there, so even if you've visited it before, there's definitely something you haven't seen yet. Try choosing one or two neighborhoods to explore during your visit so you don't burn yourself out.
Tip 1: Visit Doughnut Time for delicious (and a bit overpriced) donuts.

3. Prague, Czech Republic
Prague is considered one of the most charming cities in Europe. It has a plethora of free things to get up to and is definitely a budget friendly option.
Tip 2: TrdelnÃk (Chimney cake) is a pastry you must try when in Prague and Good Food offers the most "extravagant" version of it.

4. Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is definitely one of my favorite cities in Europe, offering the best combination of city life and the beach. If you're looking for the best things to do in Barcelona check Day 1 and Day 2 of the perfect 48 hour itinerary.

5. Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Amsterdam is one of the most bike and pedestrian friendly cities in Europe. Make sure to visit the Anne Frank House (my highlight of my visit in Amsterdam), the Rijksmuseum and take a tour around the Old Town.
Tip 3: If you're planning to visit the Anne Frank House, make sure to pre-book or prepare yourself for a 3-hour waiting line (I'm not exaggerating).

7. Paris, France
While Paris may seem too big to explore in a weekend, check out Day 1 and Day 2 to find out the things you must not miss while in Paris.

8. Riga, Latvia
This is probably the most "unusual" place in this list. Riga, definitely an underestimated city, is a hidden gem. It's perfect for a weekend getaway, since it's very small and very budget-friendly.

9. Budapest, Hungary
Definitely a party city, Budapest is a very picturesque city with an amazing nightlife. Visiting Budapest is unique in that the affordability of it doesn't come at the cost of a lack of exciting things to do and see.

A weekend in Berlin is definitely not enough in order to explore all of the city, however that's not a bad thing. If you're visiting for the first time, don't miss out on the Brandenburg Gate Alexanderplatz, and the Memeorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe.
