Do you only have 48 hours to explore Barcelona? Whether you're there for a weekend getaway or a stop off on you InterRailing journey, this guide will ensure that you make the most out of your two days in Barcelona!

Day 1

9AM: Sagrada Familia and Churros

Wake up bright and early in order to enjoy the city of Barcelona! First stop is going to the well-known Sagrada Familia. Take the metro to Sagrada Familía where you'll be immediately greeted by Gaudi's masterpiece.

I'm sure you'll be hungry so before taking more time to enjoy the monument, head to Xurrería Sagrada Família in order to enjoy churros (You're in Spain so churros for breakfast are perfectly acceptable).

Tip 1: While you're in Barcelona you should definitely try churros with hot chocolate but stuffed churros are also delicious.

After enjoying your churros head back to the cathedral. It's up to you to decide whether you want to go in or not but I highly recommend it! If you do go in, make sure to book tickets in advance!

Tip 2: If you're looking for the best place to take a photo with the Sagrada Familia on the background, stroll around the park and look for this amazing spot!

11:30PM: Park Güell

Take the metro or walk (it's only a 30-minute walk) to Park Güell. There are two zones here; one that's free and one that you have to pay for to get it. I'd highly suggest you do pay 7€ to get in but it's up to you! Regardless, take your time and enjoy the park because it's huge.

1:30 PM: Spanish Tapas

I'm guessing that after all that exploring you're probably going to be starving. Head to Ciudad Condad - my favorite tapas restaurant in Barcelona. I'd recommend the "Cabreados" Eggs style and the fried hot green peppers (although they weren't that spicy).

3:30PM: Passeig de Gràcia

After you've finished your lunch, enjoy a walk at the Passeig de Gràcia - the Champs-Élysées of Barcelona. While you're exploring, make sure not to miss some of Gaudi's work - Casa Batlló and La Pedrera.

6PM: Parc de la Ciutadella

Walk towards the picturesque Parc de la Ciutadella. On your way there you should also admire the Arc de Triomf.

8:30PM: Dinner and Tapas

Finish off your day at 1881 Per Sagardi for dinner and cocktails with the most amazing view - cheers to my friend Alex for the recommendation.

Stay tuned for Day 2, until then adiós!
