Welcome back for Day 2 of exploring Paris in 48 hours. If you haven't checked out Day 1 click here to see what the first 24 hours entail!

Day 2

9AM: Notre Dame

Wake up - don't press the snooze button this time, it's your last day in Paris. Grab breakfast on the go, take the Metro to Cité and enjoy a walk at the ÃŽle de la Cité, the island where Notre Dame Cathedral is located. Entry to the Cathedral is free but you have to pay 10 if you want to get to the Towers (free if you are under 25 and an EU or EEA national).

12AM: Montparnasse Observation Deck

After your visit to the cathedral, walk (or take the metro) to the Montparnasse Observation Deck. Here you can get the best views of Paris - yes, the view is even better than the one from the Eiffel Tower and it isn't nearly as busy.

On your way there make sure to make a stop for macarons - Ladurée is my favorite place to get them.

After your visit to the tower, take your time and have lunch around the area. If you're feeling adventurous try classic french dishes like escargots and steak tartare.

5PM: Montmartre and Sacré Cœur

After you've enjoyed your lunch take the Metro to Barbès-Rochechouart. From here you have two options: 1) Walk up the hill to the Sacré CÅ“ur and enjoy the beauty of Montmartre or 2) Take the Funicular  When you get to the hill, sit on the steps, appreciate the panoramic view and - if you're there on the right time - watch the sun go down.

Tip: You can pretty much ride the Funicular for "free". You just have to use the same ticket you used to get in the Metro since each tickets lasts for 90 minutes.

You should take the rest of the day easy, walk around, enjoy your last hours in Paris and perhaps have a few drinks (Trocadero is a good option if you want to enjoy drinks with a view of the Eiffel Tower).

I hope you all enjoyed Day 2 of Exploring the French capital in 48 hours! Stay tuned for the next city!
